Government Funding

At Happy Tree Academy children can access 15h or 30h government funding depending on eligibility (please check eligibility at https://www.beststartinlife.gov.uk/).

We deploy the funded hours as part time sessions, we do not provide full days funded only. The funded hours can be accessed either term time only (15h or 30h for 38 weeks) or stretched (11h or 22h for 51 weeks).

Funded hours help reduce the cost of childcare, but they do not eliminate it.

To ensure we continue to provide exciting opportunities for your child which go above and beyond the basic EYFS, Happy Tree Academy has a voluntary charge* for funded sessions as follows:

*Please note, this charge is not applicable for two-year-olds receiving additional support funding.

AM SESSION (07.30 – 12.30 or 07.30 – 13.00) – total cost £17:

Food charges (£7)

Breakfast: £0.50

Snack + fruit throughout the day: £2.00

Lunch: £4.50

Non-food consumables (£6)

Enhanced provision experiences including special events, celebrations and science experiments: £4.20

Library service: £1.80

Activities (£4)

Extra-curricular activities: £4.00

Parents who wish to opt out from the voluntary charge need to provide the snacks and meals for their child as a cold packed meal and snack in an insulated container suitable to be stored at room temperature. All food must meet the requirements of the nursery Food and Nutrition Policy.
