Outdoor Area

The nursery benefits from two outdoor areas, each offering unique opportunities for learning and development. One of these areas is covered, providing a sheltered environment where children can play and engage in a variety of activities throughout the year, regardless of the weather. This space ensures regular access to outdoor learning, supporting consistency and routine in all seasons.

The open-air area offers an environment where children can explore and develop a wide range of physical and sensory skills. It provides ample space for activities that support gross motor development, such as running, climbing and balancing. Children can also engage in creative expression through large-scale mark making and enjoy hands-on sensory experiences like planting, water play and sand play. This natural outdoor space encourages curiosity, movement, and discovery.

Both outdoor environments are thoughtfully planned to promote physical development (including both fine and gross motor skills), foster social interaction, and encourage imaginative play. Together, they provide a balanced and stimulating outdoor learning experience that supports all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
